Many of the houses and castles from the late-medieval (roughly speaking, the twelfth to sixteenth centuries CE) and early modern (sixteenth to seventeenth centuries CE) periods in Ireland, including buildings directly associated with Raleigh and Spenser in Munster, still stand in whole or in ruin. It is hoped that this website will spur interest in their study and preservation.
