Hey There Dr. Wilburn,

Have not heard from you in a while and was wondering if all is still well in North Carolina. Well, I got back from Zimbabwe last week and what a historical adventure! The coolest of course was seeing Great Zimbabwe in person--touching the walls, stepping through the tunnel doorways, and feeling the coolness from the granite rocks. It was amazing needless to say. The Chevron patterns on the wall facing outward behind the conical tower makes me wonder if the conical tower served maybe as a lookout tower for that side of the area? Who knows, something more to think about maybe. Lots more to share with you of course, never enough time. We'll have a lot to talk about though when I return. Hope classes are going (to go) well for you. Let me know what's happening. How did [the African Studies Association meeting in] San Francisco go?--John
