For students, who plan to fly
back, you should plan to fly out of Gunnison, CO. Students should book
his/her return flight for a departure from Gunnison, CO, 10 AM and onward, on
Sunday, June 16, 2019. Carriers that fly out of Gunnison, CO include
United Express Airlines. Something that
a few students did last year, is to rent a car and drive to Denver in order to get better fares and more choice of
carriers. Please
check with Dr. Harper before you lock in your flight reservations!!
Also,
for those you would like to fly back from Denver, CO, you will need to get
yourself to Denver as we drive nowhere near Denver on our drive back. There are 2
possibilities: (1)
Rent a car from Avis to drive yourself from Gunnison/Almont, CO to Denver; (2)
Reserve a sedan or SUV shuttle from Rocky Rides at http://www.rocky-rides.com/. If 6 of you go together for a SUV, the
Crested Butte to Denver cost $625 so would only be ~$100 each and this service
is very efficient in that it drops you right at the Denver airport. Students have done this in previous years.
The rates quoted above were last checked on October 20, 2018. The Sandia Shuttle Express can be booked online and by toll free phone.
