Meals
All meals, while at the Field Course, are covered by student Field Course Fees. Cooking and eating will be done on a communal basis. Groceries are purchased and Meals are planned by the Camp Managers. Meals are prepared by the Camp Managers with the help of the student cook crews. Everyone is expected to contribute his/her share of the camp chores, such as cooking, washing dishes, and keeping the camp and lodge sites clean. Most of these duties will be assigned on rotating basis. Each person will be responsible for preparing and packing his/her lunch each day from food supplies laid out at breakfast time by the Camp Managers. On a few occasions when we are on the move, students will be given $12.50 to buy his/her own dinner.
Students and staff should bring his/her own set of metal or hard plastic eating ware (plate, bowl, drinking cup) and metal silverware (fork, spoon, knife). All large pots, pans, bowls, and utensils, needed for preparing meals, will be provided by the Field Course.
Student meals for the van-truck trip out to New Mexico and back from New Mexico are NOT covered by student Field Course Fees. Hence, each student should plan to bring ~$75 to $90 cash or Debit Card to buy meals both for the 3-day trip out and the 3-day trip back.
