The
Geology Field Course Director, Stephen Harper, realizes that almost of all of
you already have accident insurance coverage, and you definitely
should NOT drop that coverage.
However, for about $15 per student for the period May 07 through June 19, 2019,
all students will have the full coverage, as noted below and in the attached
Nationwide Brochure. This plan will
cover the cost of deductibles and co-pays not covered by a student’s or
staff’s primary Health Insurance Plan.
The
North Carolina Geology Field Course will be able to offer Health and Accident
Insurance for all students enrolled in our Field Course this year (May-June
2019) within the total cost of your $4500 tuition and fees payment for
enrolling in our 2019 Geology Field Course. Geology Student Staff and
Faculty Instructors will also be covered for the specific time
period in which they are employed by the 2019 Geology Field Course.
$25,000
maximum coverage for medical costs related to an accident that occurs during
the Geology Field Course and for direct travel to and from the Geology Field
Course
Covers Dental Work as a result of injury to teeth only
$5,000
maximum coverage for medical costs related to an illness that occurs during the
Geology Field Course
Coverage for death and dismemberment (hope we
don’t go there) – See Attached Brochure
The
above coverage is through Nationwide Insurance Company contracted to the 2019
Geology Field Course via our risk management office at East Carolina
University.
This
is only the third time the North Carolina Geology Field Course has been able to
offer our field course students any health insurance coverage within the normal
cost of enrolling for the field course. Again, this will not raise
your $4500 Field Course Tuition and Fees. Hence, a very GOOD DEAL!
