Camping and Lodging

Students and Staff will be staying in inexpensive motels on the trip out and on the trip back.  During our stay in New Mexico and Colorado, we will be camping or staying in dorm style rooms at lodges or in condo units.  Hence, students will need camping gear including tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad-thermorest as well as personal items, such as towels and toiletries.  For a complete list of personal, camping, and geologic supplies needed, please click the following link Essential Clothing and Gear

Specifically, we will be camping at Abiquiu, NM and Cochiti, NM, as noted below.  At Sipapu Lodge near Taos, NM, Ute Bluff Lodge at South Fork, CO, and San Moritz Condominiums in Crested Butte, CO, about 20 miles north of Gunnison, CO, students and staff will be housed in dorm style bunk rooms or condo units.  At Sipapu Lodge, Ute Bluff Lodge, and San Moritz Condominiums, blankets, linens, and towels are furnished whereas students will need to supply their own blanket/sleeping bag, towels, etc at the other lodging or camping venues.
