What Score Do I Need on the Last Exam to Get the Final Grade I Want in PSYC 2101?
To earn an A, your four P scores must sum to at least 360.
To earn a B, your four P scores must sum to at least 320.
To earn a C, your four P scores must sum to at least 280.
To earn a D, your four P scores must sum to at least 240.
You have already earned three of the four P scores -- they are posted HERE. Subtract them from the total required for the grade you want and the answer will be what you need make on the third exam to get that grade.
For example, Sally Smartipants has P scores of 103, 107, and 101. She wants an A. To get that A she must score on the third exam at least a P of 360 - 103 - 107 - 101 = 49. Yes, she could flunk the third exam and still earn a final grade of A.
Consider Sammy Sharkbait. He has P scores of 59, 92, and 65. He wants a B. To get that B he must score on the third exam at least 320 - 59 - 92 - 65 = 104. Not impossible, but it is a long shot. Sammy asks "how low can I score on the third exam and still pass the course?" The answer is 240 - 59 - 92 - 65 = 24.
Consider Natalie Neverattends. She has P scores of 24, 73, and 36. Is it possible for her to pass the course? She would need at least 240 - 24 - 73 - 36 = 107 on the third exam -- not impossible, but a very long shot.
If I don't earn the grade I want, can I get it by begging? The answer is HERE.
