The focus of my current research involves attitudes about animals, ethical ideology, and misanthropy. Students who have a serious interest in conducting research on these topics are invited to contact me to discuss the possibility of working with me on such research.
Here are links to documents in which I have presented the results of my research in this area:
Support for Animal Rights and Perceived Similarity Between Humans and Other Animals
Evaluating the Morality of Animal Research: Effects of Ethical Ideology, Gender, and Purpose
The Animal Rights Scale: Measuring Attitudes About Animal Rights and Animal Research
I am not satisfied with the measures of ethical idealism and misanthropy which I have been using. Accordingly, my research program is currently directed towards the creation of better methods for measuring these attributes. With respect to ethical ideology, I wish to measure better the extent to which one is willing to make ethical cost/benefit analysis.
