Math 1066 A Better Choice for Psychology Students

Regarding MATH 1066 as a recommended prerequisite for PSYC 2101 (intro stats with no calculus), John Daughtry opines that MATH 1066 does provide an appropriate preparation, and Carol Collins adds her opinion that MATH 1066 provides a better preparation than does MATH 1065.

In my opinion, if a student truly becomes skilled at problem-solving (A or B) in Math 1066, the student feels that Statistics is a snap. Math 1066 embodies more of the problem solving skills required in stats than does Math 1065. I have felt that Math 1065 was not a good course to teach problem-solving. It's use as far as I was concerned was to teach the skills needed to complete the problems in a subsequent calculus course.
