Assignments (70%):

(1) Your summary/reaction journal is worth 70% of your course grade. Your journal is due on 27 May (Tuesday), 9 June (Monday), and 20 June (Friday).

(2) Several extra credit assignments will include two class projects, "Native Americans" and "Slavery." Volunteers will read an assigned article and craft a 7-minute speech to present to the class.


Final Exam (30%):

If you are satisfied with your course grade, you may choose not to take the final exam. If you take the final exam, it is worth 30% of your total grade. The final exam will have 3 sections, each having 2 essay questions. You will choose 1 question from each section. Your final exam will be administered during class, Wednesday, 25 June.
