Dr. K.,

Of course you can use my letters [to teach about Africa] if you find them useful. What are you teaching next fall? Summers? Things here are cool; have a new teacher in East Africa History...Dr. Kimambo taught us colonialism and post-colonialism, and now we have Dr. Itandala (he got his BA at Wisconsin-Madison). He is much more [animated] than Dr. Kimambo, so we'll see how it goes. My South Africa class is cool; that teacher Dr. Kaijage is pretty exciting in the way he teaches. Other classes are other classes. My Kiswahili class... meets like one hour every two weeks. If the teacher isn't traveling he is sick or in court getting a divorce. Anyway...I just hope that things will all work out when I return so that I can graduate. I am probably going to do a little of an independent study on the Chaaga here for a geography credit via Dr. Bascom. It'll be something on the migration of the Chagga people (of Moshi) to the urban area of Dar es Salaam...it'll be interesting and cool since I have an interest in my roommates heritage...plus we're going up their for two weeks for Easter.

Let me know anything else...those Malaria-Larium comments were interesting; I too have questioned my continuance of the drug after having gotten the sickness, but instead I opt for taking the expensive pill once a week and not sleeping in a net, but have a fan on me instead. Well take care and stay poa ("cool"). --John
