PROJECT 6: POST-CIVIL WAR CHOICES: Ex-Slave Settlements vs. Colonization of Liberia By Suzanne Averitt   ACTIVITY #4 The students will participate in a formal debate. The debate topic will be: "Staying in the United States after the Civil War was the best choice ex-slaves could have made." Students who studied the settlement of ex-slaves will take the "pro" stance and those who studied the colonization of Liberia will take the "con" stance.
