PROJECT 3: ALLEN PARKER SLAVE NARRATIVE
    Third Grade

    By Karyl F. Willis

    ACTIVITY THREE

Refer to the concept board; review some of the items on the board about slavery.
Review the bubble map on the chapters of the Narrative.

    • Have the students discuss their lives today. What do they do? What do they use everyday? How do they celebrate holidays and special occasions? What jobs do they have?

    • Then ask the students on their own to complete a double bubble maps comparing and contrasting their lives to Allen Parker's life. Make sure that the bubble map is displayed where the students may see it to help them reference items from the narrative.

    • Once completed, make a class double bubble map on the board to synthesize the information from the activities.
