Current Professional and Scholarly Interests

My research interests include biostratigraphy, paleoecology, and various aspects of taphonomy and diagenesis. Past projects have focused largely upon utilizing foraminifera to address these major areas of interest. Ongoing studies involve both living and fossil foraminifera, and include both benthic and planktic types. I am interested in marine sediments from a variety of environmental settings, extending from nearshore/marginal marine to continental shelf/slope to the deep sea. Geographic regions in which I have focused research efforts range from the continental margin of North Carolina to the margins of New Jersey, Washington, southwest Ireland, and eastern Australia.
