- Salinas Weekend (December 8-10 , 2006)

The real name of Salinas is Salinópolis -- Salinas is just what the local call it. It is approximately 120 km NE of Belem. It took us about 3 hours to drive there (including a stop for breakfast at a mostly organic farm. Click here for a map that shows the location of Salina relative to Belem.

Photos from our visit to the city of Salvador (where we visited and gave talks at UFBA -- Universadade Federal de Bahia), Parque Nacional Chapada Diamantina National Park (and the town of Lencios), and Biopeba (on an island south Salvador).
