Sediment Transport & Depositional Processes
 
 
 
 
 

An examination of the processes involved in the transport and deposition of sediment.  Focus will be on fundamental principles and how they apply to active processes, recent sediments, and environmental applications.  Via group discussion, seminars, and individual projects, students will gain an understanding of the fundamental principles of sediment transport and deposition in two-phase (water/sediment) systems.  This understasnding will be used, in part, to develop practical skills for environmental problem solving.
