Scholarships for Geology Field Course
Students
The National Association of Geoscience Teachers (NAGT) annually awards $500 scholarships to students, who attend a recognized 6-hour credit Summer Geology Field Course. The North Carolina Geology Field Course is a “Recognized Summer Geology Field Course by the NAGT and has had NAGT Scholarship recipients in attendance in recent years, including two in 2010 and one each in 2007, 2009, and 2011. These $500 scholarships are highly competitive, and the application deadline is February 14, 2013. The Association
for Women Geoscientists (AWG) annually awards two $500 scholarships to encourage promising young women to pursue geoscience
careers through attendance at a geology field camp. The application
deadline for the two AWG field camp awards is February 14, 2013. Application information, application criteria,

AIPG Student Scholarships - $1,000
each - February 15th deadline
Students need to get their applications in by
February
15th, 2013
for the AIPG Scholarship Program. Up to four scholarships in the amount of
$1,000 each will be awarded to declared undergraduate geological science majors
who are at least sophomores attending a college or university in the U.S.
Also, the student must be a student member of AIPG. Sign up for free

The
purpose of the scholarship program is to assist students with college education
costs and to promote student participation in the American Institute of
Professional Geologists (AIPG). Scholarships are to be used to support tuition
and/or room and board. Each student who
is awarded a scholarship agrees, by accepting the scholarship, to prepare a 600
to 800 word article for publication in the AIPG bimonthly
journal "The Professional Geologist" (TPG). The subject of the
article must be related to a timely professional issue.

Application Process
Applicants
must submit a letter of interest with name, mail and e-mail address, and
telephone number; proof of enrollment in an eligible geological sciences
program, transcripts; an original one-page essay on why the applicant wants to
become a geologist; and a letter of support from a faculty member familiar with
the applicant's academic work. The application should be submitted to:

GSA/ExxonMobil Field Camp Scholar
Awards
GSA and
ExxonMobil are excited to announce a new award for undergraduate students to
attend summer field camp. Seventeen students will be awarded $2,000 each to
attend the field camp of their choice based on diversity, economic/financial
need, and merit.
The application
period will be open from ~February 01 – April 08, 2013. (Log into the GSA/Exxon Mobile Site after
February 01, 2013 for an update on 2013 Scholarship Deadline)
