Grade Chart for Projects

On projects, you'll be given a letter grade that can be converted to points using the directions and grade conversion chart below.

Directions for using the grade conversion chart below to convert letter grades to points:

  • If projects count different percentages in a course and total 100%, find your letter grade in first left-hand column. Then move right across the row until you are in the cell for the percentage of the project. [Most common situation]
    • For example, if your grade is an "A," for a 5% assignment, you have earned 4.8 points toward your final grade which consists of 100 points; for 10% assignment, 9.5 points; and, for 15% assignment, 14.3 points.
    • Another example, if your grade is a "B/B-," for a 5% assignment, you have earned 4.2 points toward your final grade; for 10% assignment, 8.4 points; and, for 15% assignment, 12.6 points.
  • If projects in a course each count 100%, To determine the points you receive on a project, find your letter grade in first left-hand column, and use the number in the "points" column. If you receive an A on a project, then for that project you receive 95 points.
