For this "tutorial," you'll complete tasks that will provide a
basis
for incorporating internet resources into your curriculum, especially a
basic web page or website. When you
teach,
you may decide to place only your course syllabus and possibly class
handouts on the internet. Or you may decide that your course will be
web-based (online).
Or your use of internet resources may lie somewhere in-between (hybrid
or blended).
If you are already familiar with ftp'ing a created page to a server,
the content on this page may be "done that, been there." Skim through
the page to check for any new information.
When you work through this information,
contact me if you have difficulties. Spend some time (half an hour or
so) trying to
complete a task, but don't spend hours. Let me know if you encounter
problems.

Alert
... Important Information ... If you
have difficulties with
using the ftp software or with creating the web page, contact me. For
items on your personal space, I can
work with you to "see" what you actually have on that space. And
when images do not display, I can
see if the code is the problem if you send me the url for your web
page. Or I can see if you have sent the folder with the images to the
personal server; a primary reason that images do not display is you've
left them on your computer and not ftp'd them to the personal server.
They'll show up when you view your web page on your computer because
the images are also on your computer. Remind me about checking your personal server space and/or code as appropriate, should I not suggest doing so. |
