Project 3:
Annotated Bibliography of Professional Issues
- By reviewing the indexed categories in either the major
journals in the field or conference proceedings, you will select a topic that
seems to have some importance for the profession. For example, an STC conference program lists such topics as: writing for translation, distance learning
for corporations, editing illustrations for cultural biases, ethics in communication,
indexing translated documents, indexing web information, information design
and gender, multimedia as an early learning tool, online tools and technology
for web-based help, online help for troubleshooting, quality issues in web
design, usability of handheld information, visual design for handicapped users,
and web development for the visually impaired. You can find similar lists
in the annual or cumulative indexes for major journals.
- Once you have selected a topic, you will produce an
annotated bibliography for 1996-present. This will include informative
abstracts.
- As part of that submission, you will identify at least
two entries, by emailing your instructor those titles and authors, that you
believe are seminal reading.
- Use the examples provided in the following items as a basis for formatting
your paper. All submissions are sent as email attachments to my campus address.
