EVALUATION:
Your grade will be based on three research projects, a final take-home examination,
and studentship.
PROJECTS (80%):
 
1. Project One: Site Study ProjectObservation and Interview (25%)
- 6 Page Paper (20%)
- 5-7 Minute Oral Presentation (10%)*
DETAILS
* ½ of the class will prepare oral presentations for this assignment, the remaining ½ will prepare them for Project Two (see below). During the first or second week of classes, I will assign you to present for one of the two assignments.
 
2. Project Two: North Carolina Collection ProjectArchival Research (25%)
- 5-6 Page Paper (20%)
- 5-7 Minute Oral Presentation (10%)*

3. Project Three: Research Proposal ProjectResearch and Problem-Solving
(30%)
- Annotated Bibliography 1 (5%)
- Annotated Bibliography 2 (10%)
- Proposal (15%)
DETAILS
TAKE-HOME FINAL EXAM (10%):
Evaluating Web Sites for Research: During the final week of classes, I will provide you with two web site addresses. Following the guidelines discussed in our textbooks and in class, you will write a 3-4 page paper in which you compare and contrast the credibility of the two sites as sources for research writing. Your evaluation will be due in class during our designated exam time, May 6, 2:00-4:00 pm.

The final component of your grade will be based on your level of engagement with class discussion and activities, particularly through feedback on others' writing and presentations.
