How to Ask for an Interview
Tuesday 12:01 PM
Here is the example I have used for the past few years on how to obtain an interview.
Notice the professional tone. Notice the focus on not overburdening the interviewee. Notice the questions being limited to only two.
Hello Dr. Jillian Ardley,
My name is Katie Cullen and I am a student at East Carolina University, pursuing a degree in elementary education. I am doing a research paper in my English class regarding my future career. In this assignment, we are required to discuss the biggest problem in our field. Because I am not yet a professional, I am researching to find what other educators believe the problem is. I read that you hold a degree in Elementary Education and I was hoping that you would answer just a couple questions so I can include you in my research. I have included my professor in this email to observe my research.
As a teaching institute, what is the biggest problem in the teaching career world-wide?
If you could, what would you do to help solve this problem?
Thank you so much for your time and assistance in my research. Your expertise is greatly appreciated! Have a wonderful day.
