ECU's SENIOR PORTFOLIO REQUIREMENT

 

East Carolina University School of Education requires that each senior complete a Senior Portfolio. The portfolio will have three main requirements: (1) Instructional Practice contains four areas of competency related to INSTASC Standards. Students will be required to develop a Unit of Instruction which has goals related to the NC Standard Course of Study, student artifacts, assessment data, a performance video (recommended but not required), and reflection of the instructional practice; (2) North Carolina Technology Competencies for Educators checklist with approval by the EDTC 4001 instructor indicating mastery of the each competency required. The checklist is currently in paper format, but will also be available online for student access; and (3) The Classroom Management Component which includes four competencies: classroom rules and protocols, levels of consequences for inappropriate behavior, an implementation plan, and intervention strategies.
