What kind
of activities can you post online?

Here are some samples @ Virtual High School. You can even take advantages of the services? Propaganda Alert Here's what students and faculty have to say about VHS: Yea, it would be lovely to have everyone on at the same time, but the whole point of taking a class online, for me, was to be able to work with people that don't live in my stupid little town. People that have different ideas and views of the world. That comes at a price, and the price is that we don't all work on the same time schedule. *SIGH* It is annoying to not be able to sit down and just IM people about what is going on. I think that group work would be easier, but until the sun shines on the entire planet all at the same time, and we all wake and go to bed at the same time, it's not going to be easy. I think that it just adds to the reality of the work place. If you are going into the Computer Science Industry you've got to be willing to be flexable with your schedule. You'll be working with people all over the world. (10/2001) VHS Teacher: It's GREAT! I LOVE this job! I am completely overwhelmed . . .I can't work fast enough. I am busy reading my TLC stuff, troubleshooting computer/printer problems, answering "How do I do this?" . . .etc. etc. etc. There is always something to do every minute. The kids are great. You can really see how some students just thrive in the VHS environment . . .one student told me yesterday, "I love this . . .can I take a class next semester?" Her response does not seem unusual. With all this media saturation, should we also be training students to deal with the madness? | |
