CAUTION!
Things always go wrong when you use the Internet to teach. Some days, you won't be able to access my course. Our server will be down, or a link won't connect. We're dealing with a zillion bits of information careening around the country at the speed of light and then reassembling in your home office.

Things go wrong.

Post two times a week to the blackboard discussion

If your last name begins with a letter that falls between A-M, please post your "threaded" discussion submissions on the Discussion Board Alpha. If your last name falls between N-Z, post your reflective writing on the Zebulon Board.

The purpose of the threaded discussion is to record thoughts and feelings about your growth and development as a teacher during the course of the semester. Possible topics for consideration include reflections on the concepts and activities in the course reading assignments

1. Responses to participation in the course activities

2. Ideas gained through interactions with peers in the course online environment.

3. Thoughts about the creative design of curriculum

4. Thoughts about classroom strategies and methodologies that facilitate learning

5. Reflections on your role and participation in in the teaching environment.

6. Ongoing personal assessments of your teaching

7. Thoughts and perceptions research

8. Awareness of your personal growth as a professional educator

9. Critical dialogue with peers

10. Awareness of the relationship of the teacher to the community and school administration

11. Reflections on your classroom interactions with boys and girls

12. Development of your personal philosophy of teaching and learning Requirements You will make entries in the Reflective Journal 2x per week that are a minimum of 300 words in length. Full disclosure: Blackboard automatically tracks almost everything about your submissions: length, time spent online, dates. Your writing should be informal and be critically "reflective," as much as it is descriptive. I look forward to reading what you have to say!
