Dr. Deena took a FVC Medical Team of 41 (38 from Eastern North Carolina and
three from Maryland) professionals to the Dominican Republic to do humanitarian
work among the poor from October 30 to November 6, 2004. The team did the following:
serviced computers, washed and dressed the hair of 52 persons--including treatment
for lice, did construction work on three buildings, and conducted four days
of medical clinics. We raised approximately $95,000.00 worth of medical supplies,
medical equipment, and medications. All medical equipment and remaining supplies
and medications were donated to the hospitals. The team of doctors and nurses
saw 1,155 patients and dispensed 1,602 individual medications.
