PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: 

Organizing Forum for Newly Published and Aspiring African American Writers from Eastern North Carolina to meet and discuss the
           publishing process.
Developing Certificate in Multicultural Literature, Online, 2002-present.
Organized forum for African American writer Cassandra Darden-Bell (author of The Color of Love) to discuss her novel with my Black
           American Literature class and to do a presentation before the ECU community, Fall 2002.
Developed and taught online courses: ENGL 6360 World Literature Written in English and ENGL 6340 Ethnic American Literature, Summer
           2001-present. 
Successfully completed the Instructional Technology Consultant's course on Online Strategies for Teaching (five sessions), Spring 2001.
           This course, using Blackboard as the teaching tool, presented material on how to improve Online Teaching with these topics: 
          Content Organization, Content Presentation, Communications, Assessments, and Graphics. Organized and supervised students of
           two ENGL 3260 classes on educational tour at Somerset Place--newly excavated slave plantation, 2001. 
Directed ECU/UCB Summer Study Abroad Program in Cultural Studies, 1999-2000.
Directed East Carolina University Summer Study Abroad Program in Cultural Studies, Ghana, 2003-04.
Assisted in programmatic innovations, faculty development, and student recruitment and retention at University College of Belize, as well           as with planning for new Masters of Arts Program at UCB through ECU.
