Biography

Andrew Salkey was born on January 30, 1928 and was raised in Jamaica.  He attended the University of London and became part of the West Indian writers.  He was a radio interviewer at the BBC and then became a professor at Hampshire College where he taught writing.  Andrew Salkey died on April 28, 1995 in Amherst, Mass.
