Welcome Thank you for visiting the North Carolina Geographical Society web page. The NCGS is dedicated to providing a wide range of information for geography students, instructors, professionals, and anyone with an interest in the study of geography. The website has a new host. Dr. Tom Whitmore of UNC-Chapel Hill maintained it for several years until 2003 after which it has been dormant until Fall 2007. Dr. Tom Crawford at East Carolina University has volunteered to re-establish and maintain the website since Fall 2007. News · The 2008 Annual Meeting (Nov. 22-23) program is now available. For more information about hotels and of highlights, see the Annual Meeting page. · Articles from several volumes of The North Carolina Geographer are available for download as pdf files on this site. We are working to get more volumes available online. · The editorial staff at UNC-Wilmington recently completed their final volume (2007) which is shipping in late August 2008. Arrangements for a new editorial home are near completion. The new editors will be responsible for the 2008 volume to be published in summer 2009. Details for submission will be provided soon.
