SAFETY

  • Obtain and wear goggles.
  • Keep the probe wire away from the Bunsen burner flame and the hot ring stand.
  • Use beaker tongs to handle the beaker of hot water.
  • Light Bunsen burner under the hood so that unburned gas is carried away.
  • Clean up chemical spills immediately.
  • If solutions (1.0 M hydrochloric Acid) contact skin, flush immediately with water.
  • Wash hands frequently during lab.
