Experiment 5
Standardization of NaOH by Titration

EQUIPMENT

Equipment used in Experiment 5

  • 1 50-mL Burette with clamp and funnel (for performing titration)
  • 1 50-mL graduated cylinder (for measuring 7 M NaOH) into graduated cylinder)
  • 1 100 mL beaker (for filling burette with 0.3 M NaOH)
  • 1 10-mL volumetric pipette and rubber bulb (for transferring sulfuric acid into Erlenmeyer flasks)
  • 1 1 L Florence flask with stopper (for preparing diluted 0.3 M NaOH)
  • 3 250 mL Erlenmeyer flasks (for sulfuric acid/phenolphthalein during titrations)
  • 1 piece white paper (to be placed under flask during titrations)
