Experiment 13
Determining the Concentration of a Solution: Beer's Law

CLEANUP

  • Wash cuvettes, 50-mL beakers, and watch glasses.
  • DO NOT PUT THESE IN YOUR LAB DRAWER.
  • RETURN THEM TO STORAGE AT THE SIDE BENCH, where they will be available for use by the other classes.

WASTE DISPOSAL

Collect your waste in a beaker at your lab station. Pour all nickel sulfate waste into your waste beaker. The small amounts adhering to the glass can be rinsed down the sink. Take your waste beaker to the side bench and carefully pour the nickel sulfate waste into the labeled waste jug. It must be sent for special disposal due to the high concentration of nickel ions in the solution.
