Discard remaining HCl from test tube into the labeled plastic bucket. The HCl will be neutralized by your instructor and discarded down the drain. Discard the filter paper in the trash (or leave it in the plastic bucket if it came out with the acid).

CLEAN-UP

Rinse the test tube with water. Remove the filter paper. Leave the community equipment at your lab station including: 600 mL beaker, 100 mL graduated cylinder, test tube, glass/rubber tubing assembly, and thermometer.
