It is the goal of the university to provide access to Blackboard CourseInfo to every faculty member who wants to deliver course content over the Internet. This initiative gives us the unique opportunity to reshape not only the method of course delivery [over the Internet] but also the manner in which course content is delivered.

People who use the Internet have different expectations for information delivery than do those who visit a traditional classroom. Expectations that accompany the Internet include concise, up to date information that is easy to locate.

Because these Internet expectations are different than the expectations that are found in the classroom, we want to teach you not only how to use CourseInfo, but also the best way to use it. We call this instruction "Best Practices" and they will be found in each of the Web page tutorials. They will give you tips and show you examples of different ways to deliver your course content.

However, there is one Best Practice that will not be found on the tutorials. This Best Practice is the need for you to fully learn and then begin to develop your CourseInfo class the semester before you plan to use it. So, if this is the first time you will be are using CourseInfo, you must sign up for a course and learn how to use it effectively.

To sign up for your first course, you will need to contact your Instructional Technology Consultant. They will enter you into the Blackboard Database. Within a couple of days your course will be created. From there you can choose to take Workshops, use the Web page Tutorials or a combination of both.
