End Of Semester Duties

  • Change all email addresses within your Bb course back to the original Exchange accounts.
  • Email the Blackboard Administrator a list of an student incompletes with the course name and number.
  • If you plan on teaching another Blackboard class in the upcoming semester go see your ITC and sign up. Please remember to inform your ITC if you have already taught the Bb class that you are signing up for.     Here is the ITC Homepage if you are not sure who yours is. NOTE:  This includes professors that are currently teaching a course and plan on teaching that SAME course in the following semester.
  • Remember to change the dates within your Bb course if you are going to teach it again the following semester.
  •  When a Blackboard course is copied all the settings are kept.  This might be an issue if you have parts of you class that you do not want the upcoming semester students to view. NOTE: Gradebooks are not kept during copy process.
  • Remove students from class 2 weeks AFTER the semester is over.  This will deny them access to your material once the semester is over.  Keep any student with an incomplete in the class.  Do not delete.  See tutorial below.  Call with any questions  x0152

Removing Students from Your Blackboard Class

1.At the end of each semester you will need to delete all of the students
out of your class except those that have taken an incomplete.  Deleting
the students is a security measure that will insure that your class is not
assessable after the semester is over.
Here is a short tutorial on how this is done:

 1.  Go to the Control Panel area and Choose Remove Users.

2. Once you are inside the User Area check the radio boxes of all the
students that you want to be deleted out of your course.

3.After checking all the students that you want deleted click the
Remove Selected Users button.  Please remember that once you
remove the users form your course you cannot bring them back in.  If you
have any students with incompletes leave them inside the course.  In the
below example Kieth Jaggar has an incomplete and I have NOT
checked his name to be deleted.
