Viewing/Modifying Grades in the Spreadsheet View

Modifying grades by the score is the only modify option that provides direct links to student scores.

To view/modify grades by score:

Step 1: From the Online Gradebook, select Spreadsheet. Note: To filter gradebook items, use the drop down boxes located at the top of the gradebook to restrict the view. Step 2: Locate the Edit text associated with the student or item. Click the word Edit to view the editing screen.
Step 3: Click the grade associated with the Quiz/Test you would like to modify.

Note 1: The Clear Attempt button will delete the user’s answers for the current Quiz/Test, and allow them to retake it. Click OK at the confirmation prompt and you will receive a receipt confirmation of the deletion.

Note 2: Points Assigned is a check system for Instructors. When a True/False, Multiple Choice, or Fill in the Blank question is viewed, the points given to the student by CourseInfo v. 3.0 (according to the parameters set in assessment creation) are shown as Points Assigned. The Instructor is urged to make sure that the points given to the student correspond with the points allowed for in assessment creation. The value could be misinterpreted due to a case-specific setting or non-typical spelling error.

For example: The correct answer is Benjamin Franklin and the user types BENJAMIN FRANKLIN.

Step 4: Make the appropriate change click Update Grades.

Step 5: A receipt will appear to confirm the change. You may continue working in the Online Gradebook by selecting Back or return to the Control Panel by selecting the appropriate buttons from the top of the course window.

Viewing/Modifying Timed Quizzes

If a user exceeds the time limit, an exclamation point will appear in the gradebook. To deduct points from a user's exam to account for the extra time, you must select an individual question and modify the points allotted.

Note: There is no overall point adjustment option. The grade change must be made within a particular question. Viewing/Modifying Essays

Upon completion of the exam, Multiple Choice, True/False, and Fill in the Blank questions will be graded immediately and submitted to the online gradebook. Essay questions must be manually graded.

To view/modify essays:

Step 1: Select your method of viewing the gradebook (By User, By Item, By Spreadsheet) and access the Quiz/Test or user that you would like to view/modify.
Step 2: Click the exclamation point to access the essays.
