Managing Gradebook
Entries
The default gradebook settings provide entries for any assessment created
in the CourseInfo software. Instructors can create new entries to accommodate
assignments that are not incorporated in the online component of a course.
This provides instructors a method of grading items such as class participation
and attendance.
Creating
a Gradebook Entry
To add a new entry:
Step 1: From
the
Control Panel, select Online Gradebook and choose Spreadsheet.
Step 2: Click the Add Entry button located at the top of the
gradebook screen.
Note: If you have not created any assessments, the gradebook spreadsheet
will not appear as an option.

Step 3: Enter information into the appropriate text fields:

Type the name of the assignment in the Name of Entry field.

Select the Entry Type from the drop down box.

Enter the total amount of Points Possible.

If students are permitted to view the grade for this assignment, select
YES to Available for Students. If they are not permitted to view the grade
for the assignment, select NO.
Step 4: A receipt
will appear to confirm the change. You may continue working in the Online
Gradebook by selecting Back or return to the Control Panel by
selecting the appropriate buttons from the top of the course window.
Modifying
a Gradebook Entry
You have the option to modify a gradebook entry.
To modify an entry:
Step 1: From the Control Panel, select Online Gradebook.
Step 2: Choose the Modify Entry button.
Step 3: Select the entry that you would
like to modify from the drop down menu and click Go.
Step 4: Make the necessary changes
and click the Update Spreadsheet Entry button.
Step 5: A receipt will appear to confirm the change. You may
continue working in the Online Gradebook by selecting Back
or return to the Control Panel by selecting the appropriate buttons
from the top of the course window.
Deleting a Gradebook Entry
Deleting entries from the gradebook removes the assessment and all the
student data associated with that assessment. This option is not reversible
and cannot be undone.
To delete an entry:
Step 1: From the
Control Panel,
select Online Gradebook.
Step 2: Choose Delete Entry.
Step 3: Place a check mark in the box corresponding to the appropriate
file.

Step 4: Click the Delete Spreadsheet Entry(s) button.
Step 5: A confirmation box will appear. Answer Ok.
Note: When you choose to delete an entry, all student grades associated
with that entry are deleted. This function does not have an undo option.
Step 6: A receipt will appear to confirm the change. You may continue
working in the Online Gradebook by selecting Back or return to the
Control
Panel by selecting the appropriate buttons from the top of the course
window.
