| The Bond laboratory consists of a newly renovated space with equipment devoted to the study of morphology and molecular evolution. We have two Macintosh G4’s, four PC's and a Linux server. Two additional PC’s are available for graduate students working in the lab to use at their desks. These computers are all equipped with software for primer design, sequence editing (e.g., sequencher) and alignment, and statistical (e.g., SAS & SPSS) and phylogenetic analyses (PAUP, NONA, MacClade, Mr. Bayes, etc.). Major equipment for morphological studies includes both Leica compound and stereo microscopes, each equipped for digital imaging and with camera lucida. Major equipment for DNA analyses includes two centrifuges, a MJ Research PTC 0200 PCR machines, refrigerators, freezers, gel electrophoresis rigs and power supplies, water baths, ovens, stir plates, and balances. The Department of Biology’s central biotech facility has four ABI 377 automated sequencers. | |||||||
