Data Sets for REGE coefficients
and similarity measures
The following are Excel files of
the data matrix used in the REGE and additive similarity cluster analysis
that was performed in the paper "Defining and measuring trophic role similarity
in food webs using regular equivalence" by Joseph J. Luczkovich, Stephen
P. Borgatti, Jeffery C. Johnson, and Martin G. Everett (in press) Journal
of Theoretical Biology.
The rows (i) and columns (j) are species codes (see the text) and the cells
contain the similarity of any two species
(i,,j) in terms of their trophic role similarity. The REGE files are
computed using the regular equivalence algorithm described in the paper,
and the "additive" file is the additive similarity computed using the method
suggested by Yodzis and Winemiller (1999) (see the paper for a fuller decription).
